Skincare starting with cleansing
Hello!
This is Chiko, a beauty freak, with my beauty talk. I live a beauty-filled life by doing easy, extra beauty steps every day.
This time, it's a cleansing explanation by Kaori, my beauty friend and beauty ritual expert!

Let's re-evaluate skin damage starting with cleansing
With mask irritation, dry weather, and general dryness, our skin is really taking a beating every day. It's time to re-examine our skincare and strive for better care.
While "adding" steps like lotions and serums is very important, I feel the importance of "resetting" through **cleansing and face washing.**
If dirt isn't completely removed, no matter how much effort you put into "adding" products, nutrients won't penetrate, and all your hard work will be in vain.
Dirt remaining in pores will eventually oxidize, leading to blackheads, pimples, and breakouts. Heavy pores can also cause sagging.
Scary, isn't it?
To moisturize thoroughly, proper cleansing is essential first.

Main types of cleansers
When it comes to cleansers, you might wonder what suits you best. There are so many types that it can be confusing. I'll introduce the main types in order of highest cleansing power.
These five types are probably the most commonly available at drugstores.
- Cleansing oil
- Cleansing balm
- Cleansing gel
- Cleansing milk
- Cold cream
Cleansing oil
Oil cleansers have the highest cleansing power.
They can easily remove high-coverage foundations and heavy makeup in a short time. However, they can also be harsh on the skin, so the key is to choose a product that also prioritizes moisturization.
My recommendation is FANCL's "Mild Cleansing Oil"! It's a long-selling product that lives up to its reputation.

Cleansing Balm
While it's a type of oil cleanser, the variety of balms has rapidly increased recently. Balm types are solid oil formulations, similar to shea butter used for hair.

Recently, organic types have become very popular, with various brands offering them. It seems fun to search for your favorite scent and texture. The packaging is also cute, so I might just buy one on impulse!
Cleansing Gel
Gel types spread well on the skin and reduce friction, and come in various variations such as "water-based gel," "oil-in-water-based gel," and "oil-based gel."

Ignis's "Cleansing Paste" is highly recommended for its pleasant scent and smooth feel on the skin! I used to love their hot gel paste, but it's been discontinued.

Cleansing Milk
Gentle on the skin but not highly cleansing, so it is recommended only for those who wear relatively natural makeup. Please take your time and wash thoroughly to ensure no makeup residue remains.
Cold Cream
Cold cream has been loved by stage actors for ages. POND'S and Chifure are famous for it, and it actually has excellent cleansing power.

It takes time to blend with makeup, but that time becomes a massage and skincare session. When the heavy cream turns light, it's a sign that it has blended with your makeup. It removes makeup smoothly without stripping excess oil, so I highly recommend it!
The one I use is C'BON's "Facialist White Treatment Mase." It's my absolute favorite item, and I've been using it for 8 years!

Recommendation for point makeup removers
Regardless of your chosen cleanser, I wholeheartedly recommend using a **point makeup remover** for makeup lovers. If you use waterproof mascara, I further recommend a mascara remover.
Be sure to use a generous amount of remover and gently wipe away makeup. Avoid rubbing your eyelids!
The higher the cleansing power, the higher the burden on your skin. I recommend pinpointing your care for the areas you want to cleanse!

Now is the chance to re-evaluate your cleansing routine
Why not take the changing of the seasons as an opportunity to rethink your "cleansing" routine?
Thoroughly remove makeup with a cleanser, then care for your stratum corneum and refine your skin texture with face wash. Only after these basic steps are completed will **your skin be ready to fully absorb skincare products**. No matter how much good toner you apply to skin that hasn't been completely cleansed, it won't penetrate.
**Cleansing and face washing are extremely important to maximize the effects of cosmetics.**
