"Saki-ami" was born from the image of nature.

It all started when I tore up my self-made wedding dress. I wanted to make baby accessories out of the dress that had served its purpose.

When I bravely tore the fabric of the large bow at the waist of the dress, a mysterious ribbon, unlike anything I had ever seen, was born. At that moment, I felt, "Ah, this is interesting."

I became deeply engrossed in the joy of expressing a free world beyond the scope of knitting, and spent my days tearing and knitting fabric. Old clothes, curtains... among all the fabrics I tore, what fascinated me was organza.

I developed a new technique to weave air along with the fabric's texture, creating soft knits that blend into the space. They harmonize with the space, like "flowers" blooming softly there.

So I named it "Saki-ami" (blooming knit).

Thus, the Saki-ami scrunchie, born in Izu Oshima in 2013, brought joy to the girls on the island with its cuteness, which made me happy and led me to sell them at a cafe on the island.

Currently, from my atelier in Shimokitazawa, I am blooming colorful Saki-ami flowers to brighten the daily lives of girls around the world.
